As a foster-based rescue, we strive to gain as much personality information about our cats so you can make a well-informed decision when you adopt from us. Our cats are in foster care for a minimum of three weeks, which gives us time to get to know them and ensures that cats are healthy before they find their forever home. When you foster, that’s one less cat living on the city streets or living in an overcrowded shelter. When you foster, you’re showing cats love that they may have never experienced before. When you foster, you might be the first one to advocate for their medical needs. When you foster, you’re saving lives Right Meow! Our fosters are provided with everything they may need to be successful. This includes wet and dry food, litter, and vetting. Pending donations, we also will provide toys, lick mats, pheromone sprays, beds, and bowls. We also assigned a team of volunteers that are there to help with supplies, vetting, and finding the perfect homes. Cats are in foster homes for a minimum of three weeks. This time will help us get to know our foster’s personalities before we start accepting applications for adoption. It also helps us ensure the health of each of our cats. Fostering is also a great way to find out if a cat is right for you! If you’ve never had a cat but want to see if that’s what you’ve been missing, our team of experienced volunteers will help you along the way. It’s a great way to test if any of your family members are allergic to cats before committing to adopting. Lastly, if you fall in love with your foster, we also allow you to adopt them pending if any meet and greets are already scheduled. Thank you for your interest in fostering with us! The majority of our work is done remotely and can be done from your phone. We use Facebook messenger to communicate with fosters. Our fosters work with a team of coordinators assigned to help them succeed. Foster coordinators process new foster applications, help with supplies, and gather personality information for our adoption team. Vetting coordinators make sure every cat is healthy before adoption and that they are fully vetted. Lastly, adoption coordinators process adoption applications and determine who is the best fit. As we continue to grow, we will need more coordinators in each area. We are also looking for people to help with fundraising, events, social media, etc. There is no experience needed to join us. We will train you in whatever area you would like to help us with. We understand our volunteers have lives outside of Right Meow Rescue.
